About Mike.
Mike Yow is a singer/songwriter from Western North Carolina. His music tells stories of the people he has met and the places he has been along the way.
Mike is known for his knack of playing multiple instruments. His favorite instrument to play is the Dobro, which is heavily featured in his solo recordings. If you listen to Mike’s cover of Mercedes Benz, you can hear him play every instrument in the song!
Along with his solo work, Mike plays shows with his two best friends as the band Arnold Hill. Arnold Hill released their first studio album, Back to Life in 2019.
Arnold Hill is scheduled to release their second album, "How to Run" in late summer/early fall of 2021.
Mike is a former member of the Western NC country rock band The Buchanan Boys. Mike was notorious for his multi-instrument setup known as “The Thing”, sporting a keyboard, Dobro, and steel guitar.
Mike completed his first studio album, Laid to Rest in 2018, produced by Michael Cannon with StudioLive Produtions out of WNC and mastered by Chase Slagle with IronOak Sound out of Camarillo, CA. Mike is represented by Roan Audio Works, an independent label and distributor out of Camarillo, CA.
Mike has played in a variety of genres, from bluegrass to alternative. Mike has enjoyed opportunities to play at well known venues such as the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville, TN and the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. Mike has also opened for Blue Highway, IIIrd Tyme Out, Balsam Range, Blackberry Smoke, The Black Lillies, Mountain Heart, Artimus Pyle, Summer Brooke, and Matt Stillwell.
